Dreams that HSC makes come true
Healthcare for children
"My daughter has asthma. She used to lose
many days of school and I lost a lot of days at work taking her to the doctor.
Because of the Dr. Robert E. Appleby School Based Health Center, my daughter
is healthier and doing better in school. Now, we use my vacation days for a
true vacation instead of doctors appointments." A

A decent, affordable place to live
"I work in a retail store and dont make
much money. All I wanted was a decent place to live. Before I moved to 40
South Main Street, I was living in a dangerous, overcrowded building where
drug dealing was a daily occurrence. Now, in my new home, I feel comfortable
and safe. I have even started to go back to school." A
resident of 40 South Main Street, a building with support services that HSC
redesigned
Developing resilient children
"When it hit me that I was soon to be
entering middle school, I was really worried. In school, I have always been
picked on and a bigger school meant bigger problems. The Community Service
Academy organized by HSC helped me to develop more confidence, make friends
and to meet adults who I can talk to when I need to. I am really glad I
attended the academy. A Community Service Academy
