The Children’s
Connection works to combat child abuse and
neglect and seeks to strengthen families and communities. Services include:
Child
Sexual Abuse Response Team which served more
than 40 children, investigating and substantiating cases of
physical and sexual abuse
The
System of Care Team which worked closely with more
than 60 families helping with all aspects of life with children living with
severe emotional difficulties
Stop
Child Abuse and Neglect is an educational prevention
program providing seminars focused on identifying the signs of abuse and
neglect and raising community awareness in order to prevent child abuse
Children’s
Bank is a volunteer gift program that donates
clothing, funding and gifts to abused and neglected children who are on the
Department of Children and Families case rolls; through the Children's Bank,
the Human Services Council gives more than 2500 gifts every year
The
Child Advocacy Collaborative provides a community
forum for the purposes of public outreach, information sharing and the general
advancement of child-related services
Childrens
Connection of Fairfield County Inc., an accredited Child Advocacy Center funded partially
by the State of CT Dept. of Children and Families, has become a program of the
Human Services Council (HSC). This important child protection agency provides
prevention and protection services in order to combat neglect and abuse of
children and to strengthen families. This cooperative relationship will allow
both agencies to more effectively service the needs of all those who benefit
from the existing programs.
