Greg Arcaro, new NAPC member from the planning
council in Yonkers, New York, came to breakfast; he was welcomed by
NAPC President Pam Kestner-Chappelear, and Board members.

Doug Sauer, Executive Director of
the Council of Community Services of New York State,
Inc. (CCSNYS), hosted the meeting
and arranged for a meeting between NAPC and the Ford
Foundation.

Fall Planning Retreat

The NAPC Board of Directors met in Austin, Texas, September 12 -14, 2003 for the
annual fall planning retreat.
The meeting, at the Downtown Holiday Inn, was hosted by board member Fred
Butler, Executive Director of the Community Action Network.
The 2004 national conference, NAPC's new national social indicators
initiative, and membership outreach were among the agenda's highlights.

2002-2003 Board of Directors
The 2002-03 Board members and officers were elected at the Annual Meeting on May 4, 2002, for a
one-year term. The new Board held its organizational meeting in
Washington, DC on Saturday
morning, May 5 (following the Conference), to plan NAPC's work for the coming
year.
Subsequently, Joseph W. Lapilio changed job positions and was
unable to continue as Vice President. The Nominating Committee proposed
Paul Gilmer as Vice-President and his nomination received unanimous approval at
the fall 2002 Board meeting, November 15-17 in Kansas City.
