Conference highlights included presentations, panels and dialogue on topics including social indicators, foundation funding, national issues forums, public policy action, national service programs, higher education relationships, collaboration/facilitation, research, looking beyond traditional roles, faith based funding initiatives, and the history and future of community planning.  West Virginia's Governor and the Mayor of Charleston welcomed conference attendees, and Johns Hopkins University presented a report to the Governor on the impact of the nonprofit sector on the state's economy.  The conference featured a resource fair, topical breakfast roundtables (collaboration among diverse groups for health planning, child health insurance enrollment, National Issues Forum, media relations, and TANF), and the NAPC Annual Meeting with reports on the year's progress and upcoming projects.  Hospitality highlights included a welcome reception, a farewell dinner party featuring Charleston's finest jazz quartet, and time to meet with old and new colleagues and enjoy the springtime sights of Charleston.

Thanks
to the United Way of America, the Alliance for National Renewal, Idealist, GuideStar, the online Chronicle of Philanthropy -- and many of NAPC's members -- for posting news of the NAPC conference and links to this website!

Paul Gilmer and the staff and board of the Community Council of Kanawha Valley were gracious hosts for NAPC's Charleston conference!  Thanks to everyone at CCKV for your outstanding hospitality.
